HOLY SH.
Are you still interested in continuing the show beyond the new season without Gillian Anderson? And was her character given a proper goodbye?
For me, the show has always been Mulder & Scully. So the idea of doing the show without her isn't something I've ever had to consider.
Was her character given a proper goodbye? I think you will want to sit down and watch the series finale very carefully.
SERIES finale? So you're considering S11 E10 the Series Finale?
When I say series finale, I mean the Episode 11 series.
The four struggle episodes were all pieces of a whole and Episode 10 completes the whole.
Hi Chris, thank you very much for this AMA!
Seeing how I'm a big fan of the original X-Files mythology, and also very excited for the upcoming season, I would love it if you could answer the following:
1.) The first feature film - "The X-Files: Fight the Future" - established that the alien colonizing virus known as black oil ("purity") was the original inhabitant of this planet. Seeing how it was a huge part of the original mythology, but also absent from season ten, will it now be part of season eleven?
2.) Towards the end of the original series we've seen humans systematically being replaced by aliens. They were called human replacements, alien replicants, super-soldiers. Will the new season address why we're not seeing them anymore?
1.) In a way. It comes back in the most malevolent way.
2.) Not specifically.
Why did the Super Soldiers believe either Mulder or William had to die? Will this be addressed in Season 11?
Yes. It will be addressed in Season 11 pointedly since Episode 10 is William's struggle.
Chris, do you have any other projects brewing in-between these X-Files event series? Any chance you would develop "The After" at another channel, or does Amazon hold the rights? How about "Millennium"?
It's in FOX's court to do a Millennium reboot. Plenty of people excited to get to work on that. Beyond that, I've got a really good idea that I'm going to work on as soon as I'm finished with Season 11.
Can you define s11 with just 3 words?
Trust No One.
what are you most proud of about this season?
That the show pushed into new areas for the characters and in the storytelling.

Hi Mr. Carter,
I'm a firm believer that in drama, actions need consequences, and consequences need to stick. The reason why so much sci-fi and comic book fiction feels "cheap" is because negative consequences, like death, rarely seem permanent. Sacrifice means nothing when a reset button can be pushed or a dead fan favorite can be brought back to life - the obvious exception being when the resurrection was always part of the plan (and not a change made later on in the life of the story).
That being said, what's the motivation for diminishing the severity of Jeffrey Spender's deformity? Previously, his face was destroyed, barely held together with prosethetics - a powerful statement for the audience, who had to contemplate both the pain of his accident and the torment he likely felt every day afterwards, at having to survive in a world that doesn't look kindly upon deformities. It also introduced a powerful vulnerability to the character, engendering newfound sympathy from the audience.
Now, it looks like he has minimal scarring around the edge of his face - thus, diminishing the ongoing cost of his sacrifice. What was the thinking behind this?
The Cigarette Smoking Man has access to science that saved his life and removed much of his scarring. Similarly, Jeffrey Spender has, in my imagination, undergone reconstructive surgery and may have had access to his own secret science.

Spooky ! Toujours un réel plaisir. Merci pour la modif. Si tu veux déplacer lesdits posts dans un autre topic, tu peux, sinon on laisse ça là. As you wish.

"Maybe there's hope"
Re: News, rumeurs (SAISON 11 le 3 JANVIER !)
Allez, quelques petits spoilers-rumeurs.
“I know we tried to get Robert Patrick a couple times,” confirmed “The X-Files” executive producer Glen Morgan at the Television Critics Association winter press tour about Fox’s current revival of the classic sci-fi series. However, Patrick’s day job on CBS’s “Scorpion” made him unavailable to shoot any new episodes for “The X-Files” Season 11. “We’ve tried, but it was just a scheduling issue,” Morgan said.
